Step One: Park the functioning car next to or across from the nonfunctioning car.

Step Three: Get out a set of jumper cables from one of the cars. (Notice the two different colors.)

Step 4: Attach the cables to the battery of the functioning car.

Step Five: Attach the other end of the cables to the nonfunctioning car.

Step Six: With the engine of the functioning car already running, start the engine of the nonfunctioning car.

Step Seven: Once the nonfunctioning car is started, immediately remove the cables from the batteries of both cars, in the reverse order in which you attached them.
